.: Performance Scholarship
Performance scholarship is awarded to a student who meets the criteria set by GS FAME.
The scholarship is offered every semester to deserving students based on their academic
performance and character development during the previous two semesters. The awarding of
this scholarship will encourage students to serve as active officers of the Student Council
and the various Clubs of the school which will help them to develop their leadership and
decision-making skills which are important requirements in becoming future managers and
leaders.
Effective Summer 2009, GS FAME shall award scholarships to top ten outstanding students with
the following ranks and corresponding grants :

A. General Guidelines
- The scholarship applies to fixed tuition and tuition fee only.
- The student must complete two (2) consecutive semesters in the Institute’s BSBA Program.
- The scholar shall receive his/her scholarship refund at the end of the semester he/she
applied the scholarship for.
- Only one (1) member of a family is entitled to the scholarship.
B. Academic Criteria
- The student must be enrolled in at least 18 credit units during the regular semester and
9 credit units for the summer semester, excluding PE.
- The student must be enrolled in business subject/s to qualify for the scholarship application.
- The student must not have any grade of DRP in the two semesters (refer to A.2) to qualify.
- To qualify for rank 1st the student must not have a grade lower than 1.50 in any subject.
The average grade for GPA and Character Development must not be lower than 1.25.
To qualify for ranks 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th, the student must not have a grade lower
than 1.75 in any subject. The average grade for GPA and Character Development must not be lower than 1.50.
C. Character Development Criteria
- The student must be:
- an active officer or head of the Student Council and other student organizations
- an effective leader
- in harmonious relationship with everyone
- disciplined and punctual in his/her attendance
- The student must conduct himself/herself with propriety (refer to Student Responsibilities
and Rules of Discipline in the Student Handbook).
- The student must actively participate and support every school activity for the advancement
of the Institute.
D. Procedure
- The student has to apply for the scholarship by filling out a form completely, correctly and
accurately, with a 3 x 4 size coloured photo affixed to it. The duly accomplished form must be submitted
to the Registrar’s Office on or before the deadline set.
- Scholarship shall not be granted if the student does not apply or is late in submitting the
application form.
- The student must pay all school fees first. It is only after the scholarship is granted that
the fixed tuition and tuition fees can be refunded or deposited for the next semester’s school fees.
Important Notes
- The decision of the scholarship committee/institute is final and irrevocable.
- The Institute has the right to make changes on the guidelines and conditions
in the granting of the scholarship without prior notice.
- The Institute would like to emphasize that the scholarship will only be granted
to students who can represent GS FAME as a scholar, both academically and personality wise.
