My Impressions of Guilin and GXNU part 1
Friday, August 07, 2009
The day before my flight to Guangzhou and then to Guilin, I felt so excited. I imagined that it would be
a wonderful study tour with lots of interesting friends. After I arrived in Guilin, my first expression
was “Wow! Wonderful!” There are so many beautiful and nice views here. The weather was a bit cold because
it was raining at that time. All of these made me feel so comfortable and my face showed a lot of smiles.
We then went to Guangxi Normal University. It is so big with trees around; nice place, I thought.
Our dormitory is not far from the main gate and our rooms are so good, clean and nice. I feel like am staying in a hotel.
The next day, I went travelling around the campus. I saw the big library building, many sports
facilities and fields, canteen, shops, etc. The area of the university is so wide. I thought I could be
lost inside the university.
When I went travelling to the city center with my friends, a lot of new experiences happened.
I learned how to bargain in shops, how to take care of my self and my things, how to travel by bus,
how to be independent, etc. It was a great time.
Our tour to the Elephant Trunk Hill, Twin Pagoda and Solitary Beauty Peak was on Friday (July 31).
We went there from morning to evening. We took so many photos there. We were all so happy but tired.
The sun shone so brightly and that made us sweat. In spite of the heat, we were all so happy with our tour.
To sum it all, I am so happy in Guilin. I think that this is the unforgettable memories of
my life. – Natasha Haryanti
The first time I knew I would go to Guilin, I was shocked because I was going to Guilin with my new
friends, my new teachers and a new place to study. I wasn’t only shocked but happy too. It would be my first
time to go abroad to study, so I felt happy, and thought that it would be one of my great experiences ever.
This is also my first time to go to another country for so long without my family. At the beginning I was so
worried of the new environment but I tried to calm down and thought that everything would be okay, and surely
I could adapt well. – Michelle Prislee
The facilities in the campus are very good. There are mini-markets, canteens, computer centers, food court,
library and many other facilities nearby the campus. – Kezia
