GS FAME Music Maniacs 2010

The English Club held a new event this year and was highly successful. The Club joined with the Music Committee to host “Music Maniacs” on Friday, 8th January 2010. The much-awaited event was joined by GS FAME students.
On the first round, all the contestants were asked to guess the titles of 10 songs in 1 minute. The top 5 contestants with the most number of correct answers joined the next round.
The second round tested the contestants’ deeper knowledge of Western songs as they had to unscramble words to make up lyrics of a song played to them. The contestants fought hard but only three proceeded to the final round, and they were Melinda, Henry and Andrew.
Michael James, head of the Music Committee, put up an excellent show as he played songs for the contestants, where they had to guess the lyrics when he stopped playing. Andrew dominated the final round and won the 1st place cash prize while Melinda won the 2nd prize and Henry won the 3rd prize. Overall, the event was a triumphant success.
