Study and Cultural Tour 2010 in Guangxi, China

GUILIN, CHINA. After months of waiting and building up of excitement, the participants of the GS FAME INSTITUTE OF BUSINESS Sandwich Program for the Summer of 2010 finally have a taste of what it feels like to be in a different culture to study and to enjoy the beauty of the city of Guilin. The student- participants arrived in this city late in the evening of July 25 as part of the Study and Cultural Tour 2010 in Guangxi, China.
In spite of the stress and the hassles of the long flight from Jakarta to Guilin, the participants are enjoying every bit of their stay here in Guilin that is made possible by the kindness and hospitality of the hosts from the Guangxi Normal University headed by Vice Dean Pan Meide, Deputy Director Dai Jiayi, and the Coordinator for Indonesian Program, An Xiaoshan.
The GS FAME student-participants were treated to a luncheon by the university host on the second day of the program after the orientation and a Mandarin test was given to them. Generous amounts and different varieties of Chinese food and delicacies were served during the event. The lunch given by the host is the participants’ taste not just of the food but the warmth and hospitality of the Chinese and as a result, the students are getting a bit excited in the forthcoming activities lined up for the program.
