GS FAME Students Perform at GXNU Cultural Night

GUILIN, CHINA. A memorable cultural night was held at the Lecture Hall of the International Student Center of the Guangxi Normal University (GXNU) last Tuesday, August 24. The international cultural night showcased performances from the students of GS FAME Institute of Business, Ritsumeikan University of Kyoto, Japan, and GXNU which represented diverse cultures from three countries namely, Indonesia, Japan, and China.

GS FAME students performed traditional Indonesian songs and dances including a musical number involving the use of a uniquely Indonesian musical instrument known as the angklung to the delight of the audience. The Chinese group sang and read both English and Chinese poems. The Japanese group’s performances involved singing and dancing. The event not only includes performances representing the three cultures but as well as fun games which were enjoyed by all participants. The highlight of the evening and the last number on the program was a fashion show featuring GS FAME students in their fabulous batik.

The event was attended by Ms. Dai Jaiyi, Deputy Director of the Office of International Exchange of the GXNU, Prof. Ryuzo Ueno, Executive Trustee of the Ritsumeikan University, and other guests from GXNU.
