GS FAME Welcomes Back Students from GXNU

As Jakartans prepare for the Idul Fitri festivities, GS FAME students who participated in the Sandwich Program at Guangxi Normal University in Guilin, China arrived in Jakarta on September 8, 2010.

The students under the supervision of their lecturer Mr. Resty P. Umali, ME departed on July 25, 2010. Students received two business-related subjects, one Basic Mandarin subject and three classes of traditional Chinese sports. Students attended classes regularly from Mondays till Thursdays and went for cultural tours by witnessing the beautiful panorama of Guilin on Fridays. Weekends were spent in journal writing where they wrote about their experiences during the week and chit-chat sessions where everyone practiced their Mandarin.

Upon completion of their subjects, students were awarded with Certificates presented by GXNU’s Vice-Dean Pan Meide (Mike) during the closing ceremony on Tuesday, September 7, 2010.

When students arrived at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, they were received by officers from the PR & Admission Department of GS FAME and their parents, who were eagerly waiting for them. Students were cheerful and happy which showed that the entire program was successful. Every student had something valuable to share with their parents and everyone was glad that the program ended as scheduled.

This program, also called as “Study & Cultural Tour” is designed to give students an understanding of different cultures, business environment and above all, a lasting impact about the world in an international setting.

Students are now preparing themselves to enter their second semester which will start on October 4, 2010 in Jakarta.
