IBN Launches Broadcasting Studio

The cutting of the nasi tumpeng by Ms. M.F. Christiningrum, SE.Ak., MM., Rector of IBN, symbolizes the launching of the broadcasting studio in the afternoon of 21 January 2011 at IBN Panjaitan Campus. She presented the top of the cone-shaped tumpeng to the representative of the first batch of S1 Komunikasi students with a message that the future of the Communication Studies at IBN will depend on them.

The ceremony was also attended by Mr. Jeffry Pringadi Karlim, Secretary to the Gunung Sewu Foundation and GS FAME’s Ms. Peggy Rosaline, Ms. Carolyn Baytion-Sunaryo, Ms. Lin Florentine and Mr. Rakesh Advani.

The launching ceremony started with a traditional Indonesian dance. A talk show was organized whereby IBN communication students served as hosts and interviewed school officials. A number of songs were also rendered. Most importantly, the launching ceremony was in itself a real experience for the students as they became involved in the operations of the studio starting from operating the cameras and coordinating with the control room.

GS FAME (IBN International Programs) will start offering its S1 Komunikasi Bilingual in September 2011 and the studio will be used by the students of this new program as well.
